Description
National Real Estate Ethics Day 2026 takes place on Thursday, July 30, 2026. GRRA is hosting a live in-person streaming of this class. This event allows REALTORS® to fulfill their mandatory triennial Code of Ethics requirement. The National Real Estate Ethics Day® Program was designed by Leigh Brown along with the The National Real Estate Ethics Day® Advisory Board and Ethics Panel to meet the learning objectives and minimum criteria established by NAR for the “NAR Code of Ethics Requirement”.
- Format: Live via Zoom.
- Content: Covers 2026 Code of Ethics & Standards of Practice, practical applications, fair housing, and industry professionalism.
- Completion counts for NAR Ethics triennial requirement (2025-2027) AND your NCREC CE Elective for 2026-2027 NCREC
Expectations for IN PERSON classes Attendance Requirements
The North Carolina Real Estate Commission requires students to attend at least 90% of the scheduled instructional time in order to receive Continuing Education credit. To receive CE credit, students must:
- Check in before class begins.
- Arrive on time.
- Remain in the classroom throughout instruction.
- Return promptly from scheduled breaks.
- Stay until the course has officially concluded.
- Follow all instructor and GRRA staff directions.
Students arriving after more than 10% of the class has elapsed or leaving before the course concludes are not eligible to receive Continuing Education credit.
Conduct That May Result in Loss of CE Credit
Students may be denied Continuing Education credit or asked to leave class for behaviors including, but not limited to:
- Arriving late beyond the allowable attendance limit.
- Leaving before the course concludes.
- Missing more than 10% of the instructional time.
- Sleeping or appearing inattentive during instruction.
- Repeatedly leaving the classroom during instruction.
- Conducting business or performing work unrelated to the course.
- Excessive texting, phone use, or internet browsing unrelated to class.
- Disruptive conversations or behavior.
- Failure to follow instructor or GRRA staff directions.
- Any behavior that prevents compliance with North Carolina Real Estate Commission attendance requirements.
- Attendance is monitored in accordance with North Carolina Real Estate Commission requirements. Course
Completion - Upon successful completion of the course, GRRA will report your course completion to the NC Realtors. Since NC Realtors is the course sponsor, they will be responsible for reporting the course completions directly to the North Carolina Real Estate Commission.
Here's a little about our speaker, Leigh Brown:
Leigh Brown (ABR®, AHWD, C2EX, CIPS, CRS, e-PRO®, SFR®, SRES®), a REALTOR® in Concord, N.C., for over 20 years, was the National Association of REALTORS® Vice President of Advocacy in 2021. Leigh is broker-owner of One Community Real Estate, where she also leads the Leigh Brown & Associates sales team as a top-selling North Carolina practitioner.
A second-generation REALTOR®, Leigh came to the industry to work with her father after determining corporate life wasn’t for her. She previously worked as a stock broker and as a business development manager for Husqvarna before bringing her sales background to real estate.
Leigh currently sits on the REALTORS® Relief Foundation board, a nonprofit founded after 9/11 to provide housing-related assistance to disaster victims. In 2018, she served as chair of the RPAC Trustees Fundraising Committee. In 2017, she was national president of the Residential Real Estate Council. And from 2012 to 2015, she served on NAR’s Federal Financing and Housing Policy Committee. At the state level, she chaired the North Carolina REALTORS® Legislative Committee in 2020.
Leigh is an RPAC Hall of Famer, and an international sales and motivational speaker, trainer, and author. In her community, she holds volunteer board positions in service of Habitat for Humanity in Cabarrus County and the Harrisburg (N.C.) branch of the Cannon Memorial YMCA. Leigh is a graduate of the UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School. She lives in Harrisburg, N.C.

The Greensboro Regional REALTORS® Association is a not-for-profit trade association devoted to improving the business conditions of the real estate industry. GRRA meetings and events often include real estate professionals and other industry stakeholders who compete with each other or work for competing businesses.
